Amber is our Practice Director. She and Dr Moncrieff founded Hunter Plastic Surgery together in 2009.
Amber previously held senior roles in business and politics in Sydney and Canberra. She holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and degrees in Law and Commerce.
The focus Amber has on service and continued learning in our practice has been recognised many times a local, national and global awards. These include when when she accepted the 2019 Best Small Business Management Team Award at the Stevie Awards for Women in Business (global awards presented in New York) and the 2019 MyFaceMyBody Awards in 6 categories. In total the practice has won 17 awards under Amber's leadership since 2015.
Amber is also heavily involved in our industry and 2014 she co-founded the non-profit Plastics Practice Managers group to help provide support, facilitate sharing and helping her counterparts around the country shine. As part of the PPM she has co-hosted sell-out workshops and webinars aimed at raising service standards in Plastic Surgery practices across Australia. In 2019 she founded a new group for over 60 managers and surgeons from aesthetically focused plastic surgery clinics.
Amber and Dr Moncrieff are also passionate supporters of a variety of charities in Newcastle and beyond. The past year they have supported the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Bravehearts (child protection advocates), Interplast and the Hunter Domestic Violence Service. And Amber invests her own time into community initiatives including as a regular guest board member of Awesome Newcastle and a volunteer ethics teacher as part of the Primary Ethics program in primary schools.

Our warm and knowledgeable Practice Manager, Jessica, has been assisting patients with their surgical journey since 2010.
Jessica has a passion for providing great service which was most recently recognised when she was awarded the Australasian Awards for Best Practice Manager at the 2019 MyFaceMyBody Global Awards. She has won a number of other service awards including the 2020 Stevies Awards for Young Professional Customer Service.
She is an expert in our breast and body services, knowledge which she is happy to share during the Vectra surgery simulation appointments she offers women considering breast enhancement or reduction.
Jessica is a proud member of the Australian Association of Practice Management.

Melissa is a highly qualified Registered Nurse with a specific interest in cosmetic nursing. After completing a Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Newcastle and a post graduate certificate in Critical Care Nursing, Melissa spent 12 years in public health working in the Intensive Care Unit at the John Hunter Hospital and as part of the Hunter New England Retrieval service team before pursuing her passion for cosmetic nursing.
Melissa joined the Renew Medispa team in 2012 with considerable cosmetic nursing experience. She is a specialist in non-surgical injectables and has a strong following for her warmth and expert results. Her artistic ability and attention to detail have contributed to her success as a cosmetic injector. Melissa has completed training in a number of dermal therapies, including her focus areas of anti-wrinkle and filler injections.

Alecia joined us as our Practice Nurse in 2018. She is a Registered Nurse with extensive experience in nursing and patient management in some of the busiest hospital settings in the Hunter! She really cares about helping our patients become healthy and happy. Her kind and calm manner help them feel comfortable during their journey with us.

Alicia is a Dermal Therapist who joined us in 2014.
Alicia has formal Beauty Therapy qualifications and completed her Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science in 2015. She is also an accredited CoolSculpting Therapist.
She is an outgoing and friendly woman who makes her clients feel at ease. She is a mum of a beautiful toddler and we love seeing her balance her family at home and her ‘family’ (including many loyal patients) at work!

Kylie joined us as a Medical Receptionist in 2018 after a decade of experience in medical administration roles. She was attracted to the role after experiencing #MoncrieffMagic for herself in 2017, having had a tummy tuck, thigh and arm lifts and breast reduction with Dr Moncrieff following significant weight loss. She loves helping other women on their journey of transformation!

Emma is a happy and bubbly person that had her own #MoncrieffMagic in 2019. She was so happy with her results she joined the Hunter plastic surgery team in 2020 to help others with their surgical journeys.
Dr Bill Egerton
Dr Egerton completed his medical degree (BMed, Hons, Newcastle) in 1994 and has trained and worked in anaesthetics in the United Kingdom as well as NSW, Tasmania and the ACT.
Since returning to Newcastle in 2005, he have been working as a Specialist Anaesthetist at public and private hospitals across the Hunter region including The John Hunter Hospital and The Mater Hospital.
He is a member of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists and a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. Dr Egerton keeps fully up to date by complying with his specialist college’s continuing professional development program.
He works with a variety of surgeons across several specialties but he has a focus on ophthalmic (eye) surgery, plastic surgery (including cosmetic), bariatric (obesity) surgery and cancer surgery (breast, bowel and melanoma).
Dr Adrian Boyn
Dr Adrian Boyn MBBS (Hons), USyd; MPH (Hons), USyd; BSc (Hons), UNSW
Before studying medicine, Adrian spent 10 years as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. This led him to study and attain degrees in Physiology, Public Health and then Medicine.
After studying, he and his wife moved up to Newcastle, and after another 10 years they have 4 kids and call Newcastle home.
His anaesthetic areas of interest are orthopaedics including hip, knee and shoulder surgery, bariatric surgery and plastic surgery.

Dr Michael Hicks
Dr. Michael Hicks (BMed(Dist) FANZCA) is a specialist anaesthetist and graduate of the University of Newcastle Medical School, with Distinction. Dr. Hicks was originally from Sydney but moved to the area to study and enjoyed it so much he has remained ever since. His initial postgraduate training was focused on critical care medicine, with terms in emergency medicine and anaesthesia. His vocational training in anaesthesia was also largely in the local area, mainly at John Hunter Hospital, with stints in Gosford and Maitland hospitals. During his time at John Hunter, he benefited from seeing the wide variety of presentations that the hospital receives. Almost all surgical sub specialities are represented, and the very busy emergency department affords valuable experience with managing major trauma.

Dr David Donnelly
Dr Donnelly (MBBS (USyd); B.Sc (Adv) Hons (USyd)) has worked in Newcastle as a Consultant Anaesthetist since 2013. Prior to this he was an Anaesthetic Trainee at John Hunter Hospital but also spent time at regional hospitals in the Hunter and at Orange Base Hospital.
He currently provides anaesthetic services to several private hospitals in Newcastle as well as retaining a position on the On-Call roster at John Hunter Hospital. Dr Donnelly routinely provides anaesthesia for orthopaedic, general surgery, dental, skin cancer and cosmetic surgery. However, he remains comfortable caring for all patients needing anaesthetic management across most surgical craft groups.
He continues to be a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA).

Dr Rob McMonnies
Dr. Rob McMonnies BA BSc(Med) MBBS(Hons 1) GDipClinUS PTEeXAM FANZCA is a Specialist Anaesthetist with an interest in cardiothoracic, major general surgery and paediatrics. He graduated from the University of New South Wales Medical Program with first class honours. He subsequently trained in anaesthesia at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, including time in intensive care medicine. He is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, maintaining all his continuing professional development requirements. He is a former clinical fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and a member of the Cardiothoracic, Vascular and Perfusion Special Interest Group of ANZCA.
